Carmelo Anthony earns East Player of Week

Carmelo Anthony won the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after an incredible four games for the Knicks.

Anthony averaged 41.8 points in leading the Knicks to a 4-0 week.

He scored 50 at Miami, 40 at Atlanta, 41 against Milwaukee and had 36 yesterday to help the Knicks win in Oklahoma City for their 12th straight victory.

Anthony became the second Knick to score at least 40 points in three straight games, joining Bernard King, who earned induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame today.

It’s the third time Anthony has won the East Player of the Week this season, trailing only Heat forward LeBron James, who has earned it six times.

A Knick has won it for two straight weeks as J.R. Smith took the honor last week.

Anthony leads the NBA in scoring, averaging 28.44 points. Kevin Durant is second at 28.35.

Minnesota's Nikola Pekovic was named the West Player of the Week
