Kidd a fan of Spurs resting their veterans

Jason Kidd was asked what he thought about Spurs coach Gregg Popovich resting some of his aging stars instead of playing them against Miami, which drew the ire of NBA commissioner David Stern.

“I thought it was great,” he said. “That’s his team. He’s the coach of that team. He has every right to do what’s right for the team. It’s an older team. I did the same thing in Dallas. We took a week off before the playoffs before we made the run and that helped us win a championship. I think Pop has every right.”

Knicks coach Mike Woodson declined to comment on the issue. Several times.
