The Knicks officially announced that they have re-signed Pablo Prigioni.

The Argentine point guard inked a three-year deal for just under $6 million. The third year is a partially guaranteed team option.

This is the first day teams can announce free agent dealings as the NBA moratorium is over.

“We are very excited to have Pablo back in a Knicks uniform. He is one of our catalysts on both the offensive and defensive end,” Knicks executive vice president and general manager Glen Grunwald said in a statement. “His tenacity, leadership and experience played an integral role in our team’s success down the stretch, and into the postseason.”

Prigioni, 36, averaged 3.5 points, 3.0 assists and 1.8 rebounds over 16.2 minutes in 78 games as a rookie this past season. In his 18 starts, the Knicks went 16-2.

This is the first of a few moves the Knicks are expected to announce today.

The Knicks also will re-sign Sixth Man of the Year J.R. Smith to a four-year deal worth roughly $25 million and acquire 7-foot shooter Andrea Bargnani from Toronto for Marcus Camby, Steve Novak, Quentin Richardson, one first-round pick and two second-rounders.
