ATHF jumps on Christmas album bandwagon
EW has an interview with Meatwad (not the actor who plays Meatwad, they stress) about his forthcoming album of Christmas songs. They've also got some music samples. It's interesting.
I probably would have been more excited about this news four or five years ago, but there are pleanty of fans left who have not grown out of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," and they'll probably love it. Adult Swim (or Williams Street Records) actually does a pretty good job of putting together albums. Their MF Doom/Dangermouse/ATHF collab, "The Mouse and The Mask," from a few years ago was definitely more than just a novelty album — though Doom is pretty much the master of joke rap that's still listenable. But the AS "Warm & Scratchy" compilation was also pretty musically relevant. And I haven't heard Dethklok, but people seem to be enjoying it as a piece of music as well as a cartoon artifact.
Another piece of news gleened from the EW article that I would have been more excited about years ago: there's an ATHF movie sequel in the works.
