Norah Jones and omoti
• Listen to Norah Jones' "Chasing Pirates." It's a bit if a departure from her earlier crowd pleasers, it sounds like she's incorporating some of her El Madmo experiences. OK, by no means is this punk, but it's a little rockier at least than she's been in the past.
• Ted Leo (above) debuted a new song, "One Polaroid a Day," last week at the MSNBC.com Digital Cafe.
* Madvillian, the rapper/producer team of MF Doom and Madlib (hey! we were just talking about DOOM yesterday), are back together making music. Pitchfork is reporting that they're hard at work on an album, but release details are sketchy.
• Them Crooked Vultures, which consists of Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and John Paul Jones, have released a track from their forthcoming album to the internet, and you can hear it here. The song's called "New Fang" but the album is as yet untitled, though it drops Nov. 17. I guess we can all stop trying to rock; these guys have that ish covered.
