Harvard's hot. Paris Hilton at Harvard. That phrase seems like an oxymoron, however the heiress was on the Ivy League campus this week to accept her "Woman of the Year" award from The Harvard Lampoon, the satirical humor magazine. The prize was a take-off on the annual award given by the famous Hasty Pudding Theatrical at Harvard. Charlize Theron and Christopher Walken are set to receive Hasty Pudding honors later this month. Watch Paris give her short but extremely entertaining acceptance speech below.
There will be laughs. Forget Billy Crystal. This awards season, it's all about David Spade's Oscars parodies. Check out his hilarious spoof of "There Will Be Blood" and other Academy Award-nominated pictures.

The saga of Heidi and Spencer continues. Oh, Heidi Montag. Can you get any cheesier? In her new music video, shot by boyfriend Spencer Pratt, "The Hills" starlet prances down the beach in a bikini, climbs rocks and even runs with a flock of seagulls in a ridiculous black-and-white sequence. And, her voice doesn't even sound like hers! We can imagine Lauren Conrad is having a good laugh right now at Heidi's expense.

Sexy Tuesday. Is porn not the first thing you think of when you hear the word "politics?" Well, then check out this strange video, where adult film stars explain what Super Tuesday is and who they're planning to vote for. Well, at least they attempt to do the above.

A hostess with the mostest. James Lipton is so easy to make fun of even a kid could do it -- literally. In this video, six-year-old Madeline Rose Smith impersonates the "Inside the Actors Studio" host. Her questions are seamlessly pieced together with an Al Pacino interview. We assume someone helped her with the editing, but who knows?

Plus, here's our favorite clip starring James Lipton, when Sacha Baron Cohen (as Ali G) asks Lipton some hilarious questions.

Tom Brady: Mancrush of the year. "He's 17-0. He's dating the hottest supermodel in the world. He already has three Superbowl rings. He's every man's mancrush. He's Tom Brady." That's what one fan thinks, and he's made a hysterical video professing his adoration to prove it.

The face of Scientology. Today's video continues our obsession with the ever-getting-weirder TomKat. Take a look at this 2004 Scientology recruitment film -- starring none other than Tom Cruise -- which has surfaced on the Web. Trust us, it's even stranger than the Oprah couch-jumping incident.

Click here for the video via Defamer

And we'd be remiss not to mention Tom's visit with Oprah Winfrey.

If Dawson could see her now. Tom Cruise isn't the only sometimes-strange one in the TomKat marriage. Cruise's wife Katie Holmes, who has stayed out of the spotlight since giving birth to baby Suri, made a comeback yesterday on the morning talk shows to promote her new film "Mad Money." Though Holmes looked gorgeous, something seemed a little, um, different about the star. Click below for the clips, plus some back-in-the-day Dawson's Creek footage.

Well, Saturday was the seventh annual No Pants Subway Ride, where about 900 New Yorkers braved the cold and dropped their trousers. Check out this report on the event below.

Not funny. You'd think offensive slip-ups like Mel Gibson's and Michael Richards' would have taught celebrities a lesson or two. No such luck. Kelly Tilghman, lead anchor for The Golf Channel, said Tiger Woods' young challengers should "lynch him in a back alley." Result: Widespread outrage and Tilghman's suspension for two weeks. Here's the video:

Dr. Phil gets a talking to. The newest celebrity feud is a big one: Dr. Phil McGraw versus the Spears family. Though Britney's parents let Dr. Phil visit their daughter in the hospital, he violated their trust by talking publicly about the pop star, a Spears family spokeswoman said on the "Today" show Wednesday morning. Watch a report below.

Breakfast at Ikea. You may remember comedian Mark Malkoff from his kooky summer film "171 Starbucks," where he actually visited and bought something at every single Starbucks in the city in 24 hours. Take a look at Mark's adventures at Ikea and coffee shops below:

Get your Can Can on! For compulsive consumers of TV like the gang at Watch It, January in New York has long meant the return of the ShopRite Can Can sale! We wish they'd still show this early 1980s version, with a funky disco beat that'll make you want to kick up your legs, and well, do the "Can Can."

The bully factor? Did Bill O'Reilly shove Barack Obama's bodyguard, who is almost 7 feet tall, (per Fox's description) to get access to the candidate? The aide says yes, but O'Reilly says he might have just called the guy an SOB. We report, you decide on amNY.com/viralvideo.

Here's the Fox News report ...

And some raw video. You can hear O'Reilly getting snippy, but can't see a scuffle ...

Hot suit. This commercial is certainly, well, spicy --- to put it tamely. Now the Westchester actress in the Szul Jewelry spot, which features her touching herself and moaning, is suing the company for $5 million in damages.

A fiery career ends. Philip B. Dusenberry, the exec behind the commercial where Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire -- and the rest of "The choice of a new generation" ad campaign -- has died. In his honor, watch this unintentionally humorous TV movie take of the Jackson commercial.

Call of duty With the upcoming caucus, we've got Iowa on the brain. Watch one of the Hawkeye State's top pig callers at last year's Iowa State Fair.

And the viral video of the year is ... Miss Teen South Carolina. Her incomprehensible, stunningly illogical answer to a simple question left us all agape last summer. But we aren't just trotting out that video. We have located, umm, rare video of her parents cheering her on, of her calling 911, and of her wits being matched against President Bush's. Keep checking this spot in 2008 for more fun videos, including some more retro treats. (To commenter Diana, we hear you, and we'll have a Two Guys clip coming your way soon.)

Miss Teen South Carolina gets the support of her proud parents ...
... and calls 911 to "assist" at an accident scene ...

... and matches wits with President Bush

Drumroll, please! Here's the moment you've been waiting for: our favorite viral video picks of 2007. We have several selections, culled from a great list compiled by our corporate cousins at the Los Angeles Times. As for our thought for No. 2? Britney Spears' uber-fan Chris Crocker begging us to "Leave Britney alone!" Our question for Chris: Is a Jamie Lynn video in the works for '08? Check out No. 1 in Monday's paper. (And let us know your faves, too.)

Chocolate Rain

Will Ferrell meets his landlord

We interrupt this program! This newscast certainly didn't go according to plan! While WLS-TV/Channel 7 in Chicago was broadcasting its 10 p.m. news on Monday, a minivan crashed into the street-level studio. Check out the anchor's shocked reaction as the accident takes place live on the air.

Rankin-Bass this isn't! To end our long run of holiday videos, here's something a tad different. Take a look at "Raging Rudolph, a violent musical (and hilarious) take on "The Godfather" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Our favorite bits? The song "Have a merry friggin' Christmas" and a scene where Rudolph gets pummeled by deer gangsters.

They're "too much!" They just don't make Christmas specials like they used to. This goofy 1974 clip features a song-and-dance battle between animated characters Heat Miser and Snow Miser over Christmas day weather. Watch the video -- and undoubtedly get the catchy tune stuck in your head.

A Very George Michael Christmas! Ashley Tisdale lip-synched to the song "Last Christmas" at this year's Rockefeller Center tree lighting, Hillary Duff sang a version of it and even 'N Sync put the tune on its holiday album a few years back. But nobody can top Wham?¹s 1984 version and music video. Watch a long-haired George Michael and pals in all their '80s glory.

She shops at Alexander's! The jingle from this early 1980s Christmas ad for the defunct Alexander's discount department store is too good not to terrorize your loved ones with this holiday. "I'm sauntering through Saks. Meandering through Macy's. But I buy at Alexanders! I buy gifts at Alexander's!" When you see the woman with a high-toned accent sashaying through Ed Koch's New York in this commercial, you'll realize she definitely didn't shop at Alexander's.

Catch wind of a Chicago tradition. "Hardrock, Coco and Joe," "Suzy Snowflake" and "Frosty the Snowman." These are beloved, but somewhat creepy short holiday cartoons from the 1950s that send Chicago natives into paroxysms of nostalgia. We New Yorkers are all about the WPIX "Yule Log," but even so, take a moment to check out these films, and you may have the beginnings of a holiday tradition.

Yule love this video! Forget watching the DVDs. Here's your chance to relive television holiday specials as they were aired in the 1970s and 1980s. This clip offers a great compilation of original commercials and other seasonal TV traditions, like the spinning, bongo-and-horn-heavy " CBS Special Presentation" logo that meant Rudolph, Frosty, the Grinch and the gang were getting their annual dusting off at CBS. (By the way, you'll recognize an older Rolland Smith, the anchorman from our earlier "fighting the frizzies" video.)

Join the fight against the frizzies! The most inexplicable (and unintentionally hilarious) holiday program of all time is "The Stars Wars Holiday Special," shown just once in 1978. But bootleg videos have been making the rounds for years. A recording of WCBS/2's broadcast features ads with mustachioed anchorman Rolland Smith seriously intoning, "Fighting the Frizzies, at 11." That bizarre tag -- a testament to 1970s hairdos -- has attained cult status. By 1999, it was so well-known (among a select few) that "South Park" parodied it, with the anchorman actually fighting the frizzies in a boxing match. The 1978 ad is first, followed by the parody.

Ho, Ho, Huh?

Who said Gary Coleman?¹s career was dead? In this side-splitting 'NSync Christmas video, watch Coleman "ho, ho, ho" with the best of them (in a pimpin' green suit). Will Coleman get the boy band to save Christmas? Find out below.

It's religion, yo.

Holiday time no doubt makes us think about religion. So who better than Ali G to give us a lesson (or at least some laughs)? Click below to check out Sacha Baron Cohen, as Ali G, hosting a hilarious roundtable with clergy.

Go elf yourself.

Buddy the elf, watch out! This hilarious Web program lets you put a photo of your face on a little green guy?¹s body and record an outgoing holiday message. Go ahead and elf yourself, or your boss without him looking.

Hanukkah's over, but NBA stars are still thinking about their Jewish fans. Check out Shaq saying 'To all my Jewish people, I love you', Ricky Davis talking about lighting the menorah, and Dorrell Wright trying to sing in Hebrew.
Don?¹t even try to pretend you?¹re not excited about the "Sex and the City" movie. Carrie and the girls won?¹t hit the big scren until May, but the film's trailer premiered this weekend. We can?¹t draw too many conclusions from it, but take a look for yourself!

Urban nightmare. If you thought New York's subway rats were bad, take a look at these creepy creatures. Twenty-pound rodents, called nutria, have been spotted in the marshla nds of New Jersey. Luckily, we're far enough from the Garden State that it's their problem, not ours. To witness in-action nutria, which typically po pulate Louisiana, click below:

Happy holidays, from 1976!The holidays just aren't what they used to be. There was a time when you didn't have to worry about toxic toys. Those days seem to be endearingly preserved in this 1976 animated commercial for Toys R Us, which shows Geoffrey and family merrily preparing for the "Toy R Us time of year." This ad ran from 1976 to 1985.

Because "them goys get all the toys," someone's turned the Chipmunk Christmas song into a hilarious Hannukah tune. Hear Melvin, Simon and Moishe sing about meshuganah and dreidels -- plus use Yiddish phrases like "oy vey," "chazzer" and "naches." We hope there will be a sequel come Passover.

Take the train to the plane! With news of the No. 7 extension's ceremonial groundbreaking, trains were on our mind. If you've never heard the jingle for the failed train to JFK, we strongly urge you NOT to view this video. Because if you do, you will be "taking the train to the plane" for the rest of your life.
As we take a look at what New York will be like in 30 years (check out our "Future NYC" pack for more info.), we also reminisce about the city's past. About three decades back, when graffiti culture was vibrant, 'Fame's' Gene Anthony Ray and Irene Cara shot this anti-subway graffiti spot.
Remember the Ashlee Simpson- SNL lip-synching debacle? Well, now there's a new Ash on the block who could use some live performance tips: Ashley Tisdale. At the Rockefeller Center tree lighting, the "High School Musical"star "sang" the tune "Last Christmas." Take a look here.

Mr. Pathmark is No. 1 in our book
The Lower East Side's Pathmark may soon be a goner, but long gone from local TV are the Pathmark commercials hosted by James Karen. But you probably just remember him as Mr. Pathmark, as he was unofficially known for decades. Enjoy shopping deals from 1985.

The writers haven't lost their funny bones, despite the agonizing strike. And a few new talents are filling the void.

Not The Daily Show with Some Writer: Live from the picket line, the show goes on.

Videologblog: Writers Strike: The Colbert Report writers haven't put down their pens, either

The Strike-Proof Colbert Report: Enjoy the comic stylings of "a younger-hipper Stephen Colbert."

Our recent run of retro videos has whetted appetites for more gems, so we're more than happy to oblige. Here's an early 1980s PSA that will ensure you will never, ever confuse pills for candy again. This is serious, it can make you delirious! Be instructed in a playful way.

Here's a longer version, with a plug at the end for the Long Island Regional Poison Control Center.

The death of Cookie, the ice-cream-loving but endangered monkey led our TV-besotted minds to only one place: Cookie Puss, the ice-cream cake. You have not lived until you've heard the late gravely voiced Tom Carvel discuss his wonderful cakes like good-old Cookie Puss.

A fun ditty, with Cookie Puss saying hello and Carvel himself weighing in at the end

With more California wildfires raging, memories of old Smokey Bear PSAs were stirred. But few know of Smokey's obscure, soulful singing buddy Rita Raccoon, who plaintively urged young Gen-Xers not to play with matches, since she and her equally cute -- and vocally gifted -- forest buddies might end up without homes ... or worse. This ad has been described as creepy but cute. You'll see what we mean.

amNewYork trots out our sexiest New York City chefs this morning. But if we had our druthers at "Watch It" headquarters, we'd pick Julia Child. Well, there are few problems with that: She's not from New York, not particularly sexy, and, alas, she's very dead. But we still enjoyed this video, a classic look at Julia at her warbled-voiced, cognac-adding prime.

Many strange things happened at the 1984 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Menudo performed, Florence Henderson interviewed Mary Lou Retton, and yes, John Ratzenberger, Cliff from "Cheers", sang! We are transfixed by Cliff's stonefaced pefromance, and you can find it and other parade weirdness at amny.com/viralvideo.

Cliff sings!

Who will protect our nation's supply of Charmin now that Mr. Whipple is dead? Long before the Charmin Bears were doing their cha cha cha, actor Dick Wilson was playing the fastidious shopkeep, prone to admonishing housewives who couldn't resist the toilet paper's squeezable softness. We've put together a sampling of his commercials in honor of this i con of Madison Avenue. Here's one from the 1970s ... And from 1981 with Robby the Robot! ... And a black-and-white spot from the 1960s.
We don't quite know what to make of this. Someone has become obsessed with a 10-second clip from the 1976 TV movie, "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble." In it, "Brady Bunch" dad Robert Reed uncorks a bottle of champagne, spills some of it, emits a weird sound, and then proudly proclaims "Champagne OK!" There's even a Web site celebrating the clip: www.champagneok.com.

First of all, we think anything David Spade says or does is funny. So even a spoof on NBC's "To Catch a Predator" (NBC's hidden-camera show that sets up child molesters) is hilarious. In Part I, Spade sets up a little boy for "seducing" a 60-something-year-old man. In Part II, a 41-year-old claiming to be 14 (comedian Todd Glass) is the center of attention. Watch, and get ready to laugh.

Since Stephon Marbury went AWOL on the Knicks, we thought it was only appropriate that we take a moment to spotlight the good times Marbury's has on the court. Take a look at this video montage highlighting his career highs.

Take a look at this adorable little schauzer, who was rescued after a Virginia puppy mill was raided and shut down.
