A Brooklyn woman was charged Friday with passing forged traveler's checks at the Tanger Outlets Riverhead, Riverhead Town police said.
Deja Kilpatrick, 18, of East 96 Street, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree.
Riverhead police said they responded at 8:30 p.m. Friday to the Polo Ralph Lauren Children's Outlet after a complaint that Kilpatrick had attempted to use a forged $100 American Express Travelers Cheque.
Kilpatrick was later found to be in possession of additional forged $100 American Express Travelers Cheques, police said.
Arraignment information was not immediately available.
