The 12th annual Hamptons Restaurant week is under way with the expected fixed-price dinners. Separately, The Plaza Cafe in Southampton is doing its own version.

Restaurant week, on the East End and elsewhere, typically features a limited selection of dishes on the prix-fixe. Three-course dinners are available for $19.95 and/or $27.95 all night. The participants include stellar spots such as: Almond in Bridgehampton, Stone Creek Inn in East Quogue, and Nick & Toni’s, The Living Room, and The 1770 House in East Hampton. While not Hamptonian, Noah’s in Greenport and Jamesport Manor Inn in Jamesport also are taking part.

Chef-owner Douglas Gulija at Plaza Cafe instead is cutting prices 20 per cent on any starter, main course, and dessert from Thursday through Sunday.

Gulija said he wants “to allow guests to sample our regular menu with some of our signature dishes like our shepherd’s pie that they might otherwise not have tried.” He also is offering a $35 fixed-price menu.

Hamptons Restaurant Week goes through March 30. Get the full list at hamptonsrestaurantweek.com.
