How to get your free tickets
The most reliable way to pick up tickets is to wake up early and line up alongside either the Delacorte Theatre in the park or the Public Theater at Astor Place.
Though some wake up as early as 6AM, you should be fine arriving at 8:30 or 9AM.
It is generally easiest to get tickets during the first two weeks of performances, before any reviews come out. Tickets are distributed at 1PM. There is a maximum of two tickets per person.
There is a standby cancellation line prior to every performance at the Delacorte. And as a final alternative, you can reserve a ticket in advance by paying to be a summer sponsor (212-539-8650).
To get to the Delacorte by subway, take either the 6 train to 77th St or the B or C train to 81st St.
