Pomegranates make a delicious mixer

Pomegranates have long been lauded for their nutritional value and its tangy juice adds punch to any cocktail. Alas, the small amount required for a mixer provides little health benefits - but who's counting? The drinks are still delicious and in season. Here¹s where you can find them:

Chef Michael Psilakis serves delectable, modern Greek cuisine at this midtown west eatery. Among the new cocktails created by beverage director Sid Lakhkar, the refreshing Symposia ($14) stands out, with pomegranate juice, Metaxa (a Greek brandy-like spirit), lemoncello, simple syrup and lemon juice.

This Union Square area restaurant and lounge has a sleek décor with luxe mirrors and gold and red accents. Crowds of fashionable 20-somethings dine on artful Japanese fare and sushi in the dining room or sip on custom cocktails in the lounge, like the Pomegranate Cooler ($12), featuring PAMA pomegranate liqueur, sake, mathilde poire liqueur and passion fruit juice.
Flute Midtown

This sexy midtown champagne lounge features a wide array of the bubbly, subtle lighting and plenty of flirty nooks ideal for couples. On the cocktail list, you¹ll find a delicious Sparkling Pomegranate Margarita ($12), made with Jose Cuervo, Piper Heidsieck NV champagne, PAMA pomegranate liqueur and a splash cranberry juice.

At Nicole Farhi¹s restaurant, located within her fashionable clothing store at the Chelsea Market, renowned mixologist and Bar Chef Stefan Trummer has created a delicious cocktail called the Belvedere Pomegranate Fizz ($14) made with pomegranate juice, Belvedere vodka, Grand Marnier, Crème de Violette, a splash of club soda and lime juicewhich will certainly put you in the mood for shopping.

The Lincoln Center location of this upscale Mexican restaurant chain serves hungry New York diners delicious made-to-order guacamole tableside, along with a host of authentic south-of-the-border dishes. At the colorful bar, enhanced with a trickling waterfall, try the restaurant¹s signature frozen Pomegranate Margarita ($10), made with pomegranate juice, tequila blanco and lime juice.
