Amy Schumer: My boyfriend will be at the Golden Globes

Comedy star Amy Schumer dispelled rumors Thursday about how she met her new boyfriend, stating that they were not introduced via the dating site Bumble.com.

Posting a “Throwback Thursday” image of herself as a toddler sitting beside her baby sister, writer-producer Kim Caramele, Schumer, 34, wrote, “Me and my date to the (Golden) globes” award ceremony this Sunday, adding “my bf will be there too,” presumably on the red carpet with her. “And we did NOT meet on bumble,” she assured. “Great site just not how we met.”

A day earlier, the Rockville Centre-raised comedian had tweeted, “Please let the record show I have never in my life been on bumble.” Kibitzing with actor Josh Charles, who jokingly tweeted, “What’s that?,” Schumer replied in kind, “It’s a hair product. I prefer [meeting men] the old fashioned way #prostitution.” She also tweeted humorously that “my boyfriend and I got engaged and married and had a baby and he cheated on me with the nanny! Entertainment.”

On Wednesday, Schumer had obliquely introduced new beau Ben Hanisch, a Chicago custom-furniture designer and maker, via a tweeted image of them attending a White House ceremony introducing an executive action on gun control measures.

Hanisch on New Year’s Day had tweeted a photo of the two of them together, writing, “Sometimes in life you get extremely lucky, and the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman comes along when you least expect it. Here’s to what adventures 2016 brings!” He followed up Wednesday with a tweet of them with the Washington Monument in the background, saying, “So proud of this babe!! #StopGunViolence.”
