It’s been a rough year for Rob Kardashian.
After missing sister Kim's wedding to Kanye West in 2014 and becoming conspicuous by his absence from family photos, the 28-year-old was rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital Tuesday where he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, E! News has confirmed. The diagnosis reportedly came as a surprise to the reclusive Kardashian as he apparently had no idea he was at risk.
TMZ.com, which was first to report on the diagnosis, said Kardashian has "diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when someone's body produces high levels of blood acids, or ketones."
The illness could be a wake up call for the reality star who reportedly has been struggling to lose weight for some time. According to multiple sources, doctors have ordered Kardashian to lead a healthier lifestyle by eating right and exercising.
Kardashian has since been released from the hospital.
