Charlie Sheen to star in Crackle’s ‘Mad Families’

Charlie Sheen will star and serve as executive producer of the TV movie “Mad Families.”

The streaming service Crackle announced Tuesday that the former “Two and a Half Men” and “Anger Management” sitcom star, 51, would play Charlie Jones, “a loveable man-child with a heart of gold and a unique way of looking at the world” in the multigenerational comedy co-written by David Spade and director Fred Wolf.

Three families — one Hispanic, one African-American, one Caucasian — find themselves engaging in competition for the same camping space on a Fourth of July weekend.

Leah Remini, Naya Rivera, Chris Mulkey, Clint Howard, Barry Shabaka Henley and Victoria’s Secret model Chanel Iman also star. Filming began last week in Los Angeles.
