‘Fast & Furious 6’
It’s hard to talk about a movie like “Fast & Furious 6” without first discussing the tragic death of its star, Paul Walker. Tragic is the right word, and we’ll just add that a portion of the sales of DVD, Blu-ray and digital copies of this film will go to his charity, Reach Out Worldwide. That said, the latest installment of the action series builds on “Fast Five,” which was wonderfully revitalized by the arrival of Dwayne Johnson, whose CIA agent Luke Hobbs is unbelievably fun to watch. He has Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto and Walker’s Brian O’Conner bring their crew back together to stop a criminal mastermind. Expect lots of cool action sequences. Fun, but not nearly as good as the original film. Evil bad guy Gru — now with his three young adopted girls and a burgeoning business selling jelly and jam — is brought in to help a crime-fighting agency stop a new supercriminal.
