Hilary Duff’s marriage to retired NHL player Michael Comrie has again hit the skids this week. Several media outlets have reported that Duff has filed for divorce from her husband almost a year after the couple separated.

TMZ reports that the 27-year-old actress-singer cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the final split and has hired Laura Wasser, an attorney with a notable reputation for handling celebrity divorces. The couple have a prenuptial agreement, the report adds.

The couple married in 2010 and have one child, a son named Luca who will turn 3 this year. According to TMZ, Duff has requested custody of the child and wants Comrie to have visitation rights.

The divorce report comes shortly after DailyMail.com reported that Comrie, 34, was drunkenly propositioning women at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills on Jan. 30. TMZ reports that a source close to Duff said the divorce coming so quickly after the incident was "not a coincidence."

Comrie, a Canadian native, retired after his third hip surgery in 2012. He had a 13-year stint in the NHL, which included a two-year run with the Islanders from 2007-09.

E! News reported the couple’s initial separation in July 2014, citing the breakup as friendly.
