HBO’s “Girls” concluded a week of filming scenes for the show’s sixth season in Montauk on Friday, East Hampton town officials said.

The show received a permit to film between Sept. 19 and Friday, the town clerk’s office said, and crews were on-site filming on the hamlet’s sidewalks, at Eddie Ecker Park and on the beach in front of the Atlantic Terrace Motel.

The clerk’s office also said the show had filmed in some private businesses in the area, but did not specify which ones.

At 668 The Gig Shack, manager Arden Gardell said the cast and crew were frequent customers during the week, though they did not film at the restaurant and bar.

They were “just eating here a lot and drinking here,” he said. “They were cool. They loved us, we loved them.”

Lena Dunham directs and stars in the show, which premiered in 2012. The sixth season is expected to be its last, and Dunham posted a series of Instagram posts that appear to be from Montauk during the week of filming, some of the last shot for the upcoming season, she said.

The photos included shots outside the Atlantic Terrace and cast and crew posing with bottles of Montauk Hard Label Whiskey. The week ended with a cast and crew beach bonfire, Dunham posted.

“Girls family making s’mores. We have 5 more shooting days,” Dunham wrote under a photo of the show staff around two fires on a beach. “Nothing witty to say about it, just that this feels like camp ending plus high school ending plus college ending, then add to that your whole family moving to Mars (aka other TV shows.) Never felt big love quite like this ... #endofGIRLS”

Staff at the Atlantic Terrace Motel did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
