Martin Scorsese is hard at work at a waterfront mansion in Sands Point directing a new HBO as-yet-untitled show about the music industry in the 1970s. The show, an hourlong pilot that has not yet gotten approval to go to series from the pay-cable channel, stars Olivia Wilde and Bobby Cannavale. In addition to the actors, the scene being shot here Tuesday included a golden retriever who was kept waiting for a very long time, according to the show's wrangler.
Since Scorsese arrived on the North Shore, rumors have been flying faster than the bullets in "Boardwalk Empire" (his most recent HBO show), including that the director is residing on a multimillion-dollar yacht in Manhasset Bay (not true) and that executive producer Mick Jagger will show up (maybe). According to sources on the set, Jagger did make a momentary appearance during a scene shot on Crosby Street in Manhattan on Monday.
