‘Monsters University’
Sully and Mike are back in a superb Pixar prequel that follows these two scaring aficionados in their college days, before they were friends. It’s not a charmer like the first one — there’s no cooing toddler — but it’s another wonderful Pixar treat. (DVD, $29.99; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $39.99; Blu-ray/DVD/digital combo, $45.99; Blu-ray 3-D/Blu-ray/DVD/digital combo, $49.99)’R.I.P.D.’
This Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges action comedy is a lot — and I mean a lot — like the “Men in Black” franchise. Replace aliens with dead monsters escaping from the afterworld, and you’ve got your movie. And … it’s fine: Kind of fun and kind of dumb.
