HOT SONG: "When I Grow Up" by Pussycat Dolls
Ha ha ha ha. The new Pussycat Dolls single, "When I Grow Up" (Interscope), sounds like a joke. How else can you explain a chorus of "When I grow up, I wanna see the world, drive nice cars, I wanna have groupies"? Yeah, they sang, er, said it - over a Rodney Jerkins-produced dance beat that would actually sound pretty good if the lyrics weren't so ridiculous. Considering that the entire Pussycat Doll empire of music videos, retail outlets and reality shows hinges on the upcoming "PCD2" album, shouldn't they have tried a little harder on the lead single? Maybe they were too busy laughing all the way to the bank.
