For this year’s holiday gift guide, Newsday put the question to a lot of famous people — many with Long Island ties. And what a mixed bag of answers — from pricey jewels to inexpensive toys to family memorabilia. But if there was a consistent theme, it was this: the best presents often are unexpected.
