ALICE IN WONDERLAND
Alice in Wonderland statue is located just north of the Conservatory Water at East 75th St. Philanthropist George Delacorte commissioned this sculpture from José de Creeft, in honor of Delacorte's wife, Margarita. Dedicated in 1959, de Creeft's sculpture closely follows John Tenniel's whimsical Victorian illustrations from the first edition of the book. Alice herself is said to resemble de Creeft's daughter, Donna.
