DUKE ELLINGTON

The Duke Ellington statue is located at 110th Street and Fifth Avenue. The 25-foot-tall sculpture is the first monument in New York City dedicated to an African American and the first memorial in the United States to Ellington. (Courtesy: Central Park Conservancy / July 1, 2003)
