Former rapper Vanilla Ice was arrested Wednesdayin Florida for stealing furniture, bicycles and a pool heater from a home in foreclosure, police there said.

Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, was charged with burglary and grand theft for the Lantana, Florida, incident, which took place sometime between December 2014 and now. Police said they then executed a search warrant and found the stolen property inside another one of Van Winkle’s homes.

Van Winkle, 47, is currently renovating a home adjacent to the one that was broken into, just south of West Palm Beach. He is filming a TV show for the DIY Network, “The Vanilla Ice Project,” which follows the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper as he flips a lakefront home in Florida.

His manager, Tommy Quon, said an attorney for Van Winkle was posting $7,000 bail Tuesday evening. Quon said he had been unable to speak to Van Winkle.
“The Vanilla Ice Project” first aired on the DIY Network in October 2010. It’s fourth season finished airing last May.

The DIY show purports the former rapper has “champagne taste.”

“The pop icon and knock-out home renovator has taken his biggest risk yet, investing in a high-dollar lakefront dump in need of a top-to-bottom transformation,” the show’s bio reads. “That means ripping rooms to the studs, adding a new pool, a boat dock with a tiki hut and state-of-the-art technology all around.”

Van Winkle, who grew up part-time in Miami, later provided a sworn statement to detectives, police said, and the property was returned to the owner.
A representative for the DIY Network did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
