Feeling crappy? Blame the #pollentsunami

Blowing through tissues? Don’t be too concerned.

According to one well-quoted allergist, the allergy season is off the charts this year!

Are you waking up in the middle of the night because you can’t breathe? Are your eyes watering and itchy? Don’t worry, it’s not the plague, it’s just a little something called “pollen tsumani.”

Dr. Clifford Basset, medical director at Allergy and Asthma Care of New York, told DNAinfo that harsh winter made  the nasty little pollen buggers “more potent.” (No, pollen doesn’t actually manifest itself in insect form, rather, it’s invisible in the air and impossible to avoid. Ha!)

“We’re seeing what’s called a double whammy,” he said, adding that the past 10 days have been particularly bad.

Yeah, we know.

So go take another Claritin. Avoid beer because it will only stuff you up more. Sorry.
