  • Roommates Martha Souder and Rachel Plast, both 23, moved from Wisconsin a few months ago and are looking to adopt a dog. On Sunday they cuddled 4-month-old sisters, Diamond and Princess, in Union Square during the Maddie's Pet Adoption Days, hosted by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.

More than 3,500 animals were up for adoption at Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days, hosted by the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, on Sunday, June 1. See photos of some of them.
