New York City hotels and nearby attractions where you’ll find holiday magic

Depending on the way you look at it, staying in the heart of New York City during the holiday season is either magical … or a nightmare. On one hand, you have the traditions — the elaborately decorated department store windows, the holiday markets jam-packed with unique treasures and the open-air ice skating rinks. If you want to experience all the holiday goodness and then some, here are five hotels — and a host of suggested things to do nearby — so you can keep the merrymaking going for days.
