The style stars of awards season
Some major talent has been shown off this awards season -- and so has some major style.
From the gorgeous Ralph Lauren cape dress Lupita Nyong'o wore to the Golden Globes to Amy Adams' cut-out cobalt SAG Awards gown, Hollywood's hottest ladies have been making waves on the red carpet.
But what will they wear when it comes to the biggest show of all -- the Oscars -- on March 2? In anticipation of the Academy Awards, we rounded up some of the hottest looks of awards season so far, and made our predictions as to what the style stars of awards season will wear on the Oscars red carpet.
GOLDEN GLOBES: "12 Years a Slave" star Lupita Nyong'o has been the woman to watch on the red carpet this awards season, kicking off her fashion parade at the Jan. 12 Golden Globes in this statement-making red Ralph Lauren cape dress.
SAG AWARDS: Nyong'o looks oh-so-lovely at the Jan. 18 SAG Awards in a one-of-a-kind turquoise gown by Gucci, featuring gold and turquoise floral embroidered straps. A pair of antique gold and citrine earrings and a 1950s gold flower bouquet ring -- both by Fred Leighton -- complete the actress' look.
OSCARS: Much to the delight of fashionistas, Oscar-nominated Nyong'o has opted for bright hues and chic silhouettes throughout most of awards season, and we anticipate she'll do the same at the Academy Awards on March 2. We think she'd look stunning in this pink-and-yellow Giambattista Valli gown, a modern, fun and elegant choice that would make her a scene-stealer on the red carpet. (Credit: Getty Images)
GOLDEN GLOBES: As Sydney Prosser in the '70s-set "American Hustle," Amy Adams wears plunging neckline after plunging neckline. One thing we learned after watching the film? She can definitely rock a deep-V style, which is one reason this Valentino gown works so well on her. Add to that the two-tone red color and the flattering shape -- plus a long necklace that emphasizes the actress' décolletage even more -- and you've got one red-haute red-carpet look.
SAG AWARDS: Adams really goes for the bold in this blue cut-out Antonio Berardi gown, accented by a gold-hued belt. The high slit, cut-outs and interesting neckline make for a sexy -- yet not overtly so -- style.
OSCARS: With plunging necklines dominating Adams' "American Hustle" wardrobe and some of her awards-seasons looks, you'd think we might be sick of this style on her. But, if it ain't broke . . . right? Besides the deep V, this feminine Elie Saab dress is unlike anything Adams has worn this awards season, especially the gold metallic hue, which would make her shine on Oscars night. A bonus: It would coordinate oh-so-nicely with a gold statue should she take one home. (Credit: Getty Images)
GOLDEN GLOBES: Black and white done not very right! "American Hustle" star Jennifer Lawrence had the Internet abuzz when she stepped out at the Golden Globes in this shapeless Dior gown, prompting a bevy of online spoofs that poked fun of the dress. We can't say we blame the critics, either.
SAG AWARDS: Lawrence redeemed herself from her much-mocked Golden Globes gown in this well-fitting sparkly Dior column dress, Jennifer Meyer jewelry and Brian Atwood heels.
OSCARS: As the face of Dior, and considering the fact that she's worn Dior to practically every major event as of late, Oscar nominee Lawrence will no doubt don a Dior gown at the Oscars. Our favorite two looks from the spring collection (that she hasn't already worn) for Lawrence are this eye-catching belted red gown and this plunging, textured navy dress, which would look cool and modern on Lawrence, already an Oscar winner for last year's "Silver Linings Playbook," if it were re-worked into a gown.

GOLDEN GLOBES: "Gravity" star Sandra Bullock experienced a major fashion misstep in this tri-colored Prabal Gurung gown. By choosing a dress from the fashion darling, Bullock appeared to be making an attempt at looking edgy and interesting, but instead flopped big-time.
SAG AWARDS: At the SAG Awards, Bullock glimmers in green, donning a chic emerald Lanvin dress in washed toile lame, featuring a bow accent at the waist. An antique Fred Leighton coiled snake bracelet with an emerald drop, set in 18-karat yellow gold, wraps around her left arm.
OSCARS: For the Oscars, we hope Bullock chooses something sophisticated, fitted and sexy, like this Reem Acra gown. The neckline would show off just the right amount of décolletage, the slim cut of the dress would complement Bullock's shape (which, as evidenced by her lack of wardrobe in "Gravity," she worked hard to attain) and the red color would really resonate on her.

GOLDEN GLOBES: "Blue Jasmine" star Cate Blanchett was one of the most elegant ladies on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in this Armani Privé gown. And as gorgeous as it looked from the front, it looked even more stunning from behind, with a completely open back showing off Blanchett's shape.
SAG AWARDS: This draped Givenchy gown wasn't fashionista Blanchett's best look ever, but we do like the neckline, dark-pink detailing and Blanchett's willingness to go daring when it comes to style.
OSCARS: It'll be class all the way for Blanchett at the Oscars, where she may go home with an award. The regal aesthetic of this Armani Privé gown, the gorgeous embellishments, the lovely lavender color and the slim silhouette make it a beautiful choice for Blanchett. (Credit: Getty Images)
GOLDEN GLOBES: Camila Alves McConaughey, whose hubby Matthew McConaughey is making the awards show rounds for his film "Dallas Buyers Club," became the hottest plus-one of awards season. Here, she rocks a supremely curve-hugging long-sleeved black sequin gown.
SAG AWARDS: Gorgeous in gold: At the SAG Awards, Alves dons a chartreuse satin crepe gown by Donna Karan Atelier, jewels by Neil Lane (including a 50-carat yellow sapphire, gold and diamond ring) and silver sandals by Casadei.
OSCARS: To accompany her man McConaughey to the Oscars, where he is expected to nab an award, Alves should wear something refined and sexy, like this rich red Jenny Packham gown. The material would fall flawlessly over Alves' gorgeous curves, and the slit allows for some sex appeal. (Credit: Getty Images)
