A faulty livestream during Apple's iPhone 6 product launch event drew the ire of technology enthusiasts Tuesday.

Bloggers, tech journalists and Apple fans took to social media to express their frustration over Apple.com's unreliable livestream, dubbing the mishap #livestreamgate.

A common thread among social media users was a joke about an Apple employee sporting a purple infinity scarf as he demonstrated the new iPhone.

Other complaints dealt with the Mandarin and Japanese interpretation causing overlapping audio, how Apple required watchers to use their Safari browser and how the livestream crashed Apple TV devices.
