The FDNY put out a fire atop a swanky Upper East Side building where musician Art Garfunkel lives, according to officials and property records.
Dozens of firefighters battled a blaze at a top-floor unit at 9 E. 79th St. between Madison and Fifth avenues shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Garfunkel, better known as the other half of Simon and Garfunkel, is listed on public records as a tenant of the building's top floor. The New York Post first reported the unit belonging to Garfunkel, 73.
A FDNY spokesman said there were no injuries from the blaze, but could not say for sure if the apartment was occupied or where it started.
A rep for Garfunkel did not return a request for comment.
