A Brooklyn man faces robbery charges in connection with a 2015 holdup of a Hicksville gold dealer, Nassau County police said Thursday.
Thomas Corrow, 30, of Sterling Place, was arrested Wednesday on two counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said Corrow and another man are suspected of robbing Wall Street Gold Buyers, 154 W. Old Country Rd., at about 3:20 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2015.
Police said they still searching for the second suspect.
Two men entered the shop, acting if they wanted to sell gold, police said. The shop’s owner, a woman, “was then confronted by one of the subjects who simulated that he had a gun under his arm and demanded gold and money,” police said in their original news release.
As the shop owner tried to run from the store, the armed suspect “pistol whipped her in the head,” police said.
The two struggled briefly, and the woman was able to leave the shop and call for help, police said.
The two made off with more than $1,000 in cash and a Michael Kors watch. They entered a black sport utility vehicle and drove away west on Old Country Road.
