Horns, masks and oil body paint to celebrate J’ouvert in Brooklyn early Monday

In the early morning hours before the official annual West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn on Monday, revelers took to the streets to celebrate J’ouvert. The party can turn raucous, and this year the festivities were marred when an aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo was seriously injured in a shooting and another man was fatally stabbed.
