Yorkville trivia
-Actor James Cagney grew up in the neighborhood.
-Yorkville is also the birthplace of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, circa 1920
-Yorkville was the home of the Marx Brothers at 179 E. 93rd Street.
-It was once base to Fritz Kuhn's German-American Bund, the pro-Nazi group in the 1930s.
-Gracie Mansion, the mayor's official residence, is in the neighborhood, on East End Avenue and 88th Street.
-Baseball legend Lou Gehrig was born here in 1903
