Safety study to target most dangerous intersections

The city will begin investigating the 20 most dangerous intersections in hopes of cutting down on car crashes, officials said Tuesday.

The city transportation department will audit the intersections with the most car crashes later this year and determine how to make them safer. The mayor enacted a law requiring the safety study Tuesday.

The law also requires the department to conduct a study of all the fatal or injury-causing accidents involving pedestrians in the past five years to find ways to prevent those types of crashes.
