Sunnyside Gardens close to being landmarked

Sunnyside Gardens in Queens got a step closer to being landmarked yesterday after a recommendation by a City Council committee yesterday.

The subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Siting and Maritime Uses, chaired by Council Member Jessica Lappin, today recommended landmark status for the historic neighborhood. Sunnyside Gardens has been recognized for its low-rise, low density housing arranged around landscaped open courtyards.
