Commission gives Verizon green light
Verizon has been given the go-ahead to sell cable services in New York City.
The New York State Public Service Commission voted yesterday to approve Verizon's franchise with the city for 12 years, increasing competition in the market.
Commission Chair Gary Brown called the decision "a sure-fire win for consumers in New York City."
