Poll says most New Yorkers want Spitzer to resign
A WNBC/Marist poll of New York State conducted Tuesday finds seven in ten voters think Gov. Eliot Spitzer should resign from office after it was revealed he was a customer of a high-priced prostitution ring.
In all, 624 people were surveyed. Even if Spitzer resigns, more New York State voters think he should face criminal prosecution for his actions than those who think he should not, and 66 percent think the Legislature should impeach him if he fails to leave on his own. Margin of error is +/-4 percent.
