A firework show concludes an evening of celebrations for the Brooklyn Bridge May 22, 2008 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. The Brooklyn Bridge, one of the world's most iconic bridges, turns 125 years old on May 24th. To celebrate the landmark structure, New York hosted a fireworks display and music performance by the Brooklyn Philharmonic at Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park. German-born civil engineer John A. Roebling designed the bridge, which took thirteen years to build.
