• The NME has a review of Julian Casablancas' live solo show. He'll be at Terminal 5 Jan. 14 & 15.

• Jimmy Fallon house band The Roots have been composing little pieces of interstitial music for the intros and outros of the show that they've been calling sandwiches. Now they're up to 1,000! To celebrate, Questlove has been posting a bunch of them here. If you don't feel like sifting through all the posts on Questo's site (there's a bunch of other non-Fallon music, and who wants that? Oh, I do), this guy has compiled 22 sandwiches into a digital download for your convenience.

• More news on the Broken Bells tip (remember from yesterday, the project by James Mercer and Danger Mouse?): Their album is due out March 9, and their first single, "The High Road," will be available for download on the website on Monday.
