The meaning of 'Danny Boy'
I can understand tavern owner Shaun Clancy banning "Danny Boy' from his establishment because it¹s heard too often, or because its beauty is too often marred by inebriated singers, or even because its lyrics were written by an Englishman, but "depressing?"
It's hard to imagine that someone who grew up in County Cavan, Ireland, can¹t distinguish between depression and pathos.
