Police officers kill knife-wielding man in Bushwick: NYPD

A knife-wielding man was shot to death by police officers in Bushwick after cops responded to a 911 call saying he was threatening people, the NYPD said.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. yesterday, after police officers responded to the call around Hart Street and Irving Avenue, officials said.

When police arrived, the man threw a “glass object” at the officers, after which he approached them while brandishing a knife, the NYPD said.

The officers told him to drop the knife but he refused, and police shot him in the torso several times after he “lunged” at the officers, the NYPD said.

He was taken to Woodhull Medical Center and pronounced DOA.

The knife was recovered at the scene, and the police were unharmed, officials said.
