A man was slashed and robbed on a subway train in the Bronx overnight, police said.

The incident began on the southbound No. 2 train when two suspects got on at Intervale Avenue just before 1:15 a.m. and robbed the victim of his backpack, according to investigators.

The suspects slashed the 26-year-old victim in the face and the back of the head during the robbery, authorities said.

The victim got off the train at the Jackson Avenue-Westchester Avenue station and sought help, police said. He was taken to Lincoln Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police are still searching for the suspects, who they said remained on the train after the victim got off.
