A young boy is in very critical condition after a fire erupted inside his two-story home in the Bensonhurst area of Brooklyn Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The blaze broke out at about 7:15 a.m. on the second floor of the 85th Street home, near 24th Avenue, an FDNY spokesman said. Fire officials responded just four minutes later and immediately rushed in to grab the boy, performing CPR on him at the home.
But the boy was suffering from burns and smoke inhalation and was taken to Coney Island Hospital where he is fighting for his life.
Four other people inside the home suffered minor injuries.
A total of 12 units and 60 firefighters responded to the blaze.
