Candidates pile up news nods

There’s been a flurry of newspaper endorsements as of late, with many of the higher-circulation dailies pulling for Barack Obama. The surprise of the batch was conservative-ish Chicago Tribune, whose endorsement for Obama was the first for a Democrat in its 160-year history.
