Political chatter from DC and NYC, the amNewYork way

Open your eyes on Obama, people!

By Amara Birman

I, like many of my Republican compatriots, have all but given up on John McCain’s prospects of winning next Tuesday’s election. Pendulums swing, it’s the Democrats’ turn, yada yada, but this Barack Obama guy is a fraud and he is getting a free pass from the media and I am so tired of it being my responsibility to tell the truth.

But someone has to do it. The Los Angeles Times sure won’t. The Times in all its glory, is sitting on a tape of Barack Obama singing the praises of Rashid Khalidi — a known PLO adviser and mouthpiece for Yasser Arafat. This same party, where Obama toasted Khalidi, was attended by none others than your friend and mine, William Ayers and was sponsored by the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), which had been founded by Khalidi and his wife, Mona, formerly a top English translator for Arafat’s press agency.

But the L.A. Times would rather talk about Sarah Palin and how she caused John McCain’s impending demise. Obama is associated with dangerous, murderous, radical people. But why should we care? After all, we’re making history! How many times do I have to remind people that Obama has ties to terrorists before it sinks in?

All over the world, terrible people are cheering the prospect of an Obama presidency as one that will mend ties with the Muslim community. They are praying to Allah in the streets for an Obama win! Leaders of terrorist groups tell their followers that Obama will be good for them and not follow through on his promises to Israel, which he made during the campaign. That, to me, is not a good sign. And, the United Nations, the bastion of anti-Americanism, anti-Israel posturing is backing Obama. All of this is certainly not positive.

Also, I have said this before and I will say it again. Not only has Barack been known to praise bad people in public, his website will accept donations from anyone without verification. The New York Post ran a story about a man who gave to the Obama campaign using multiple fake names (including the name Osama bin Laden) and fake addresses for one credit card, which was accepted and charged. He attempted to do the same on John McCain’s Web site and was denied. Now, something tells me that if Obama hadn’t been caught getting serious amounts of money from Gaza by pro-Israel bloggers, the mainstream media would have let that go, too.

Unfortunately, “freedom of the press” gives the press the freedom to report what they want, how they want, as they want. America, you are being duped by Barack Hussein Obama — who is aided and abetted by your news outlets who refuse to tell the whole truth and then let you decide. On the bright side, we have hope and change, right?
