President-elect Barack Obama is being careful. Very careful.

Obama is so intent on disassociating himself from scandal-plagued Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich that he commissioned and completed a thorough report on his newly appointed staff's every relationship, conversation, suggestive glance with and at Blagojevich.

The results: White House chief of staff-to-be Rahm Emanuel spoke with Blagojevich — the beleaguered Democrat with the impressive hair — once, maybe twice but, hey there, there was no mention of the Senate seat in question.

Of course, they all talked to each other! They were all part of the Illinois political machine. I guess it doesn't hurt to be too careful, but unless there's concrete evidence that anyone in the Obama entourage was part of the alleged wrongdoing, what's wrong with a little talk?
