Political chatter from DC and NYC, the amNewYork way
"What are you gonna do about gas prices?" Well, there is probably some truth to the market manipulation argument, but the rest of HRC's answer is beyond lame. She mentions her plan to move to energy independence but doesn't say how.

I think he's handled this extremely well. I worry, though, that if Obama is the nominee, I think the Republicans are going to really go for the jugular over this and Obama will be forced to condemn Wright's language more vociferously and with specific examples of what offended him, why it offended him and what kind of discourse he's had with Wright about it. I think it would be a good idea to start...Read more »
I really like Obamas answer on affirmative action. It is so true. It is fair. It blunts a lot of Republican arguments.

More cops on the street is not the answer! There is nothing that puts civil rights and civil liberties in danger more than a cop driving around alone in a squad car with nothing to do. Certainly cities that haven't seen NYC's drop in crime need help with their local policing, but this is ridiculous! There is a real possibility of joining rural hunters with urban anti-gun advocates, but I doubt HRC...Read more »
Can Hillary ever say yes or no? Every time shes asked a simple yes or no question, she qualifies her response with double possibilities.

Intermission #2. The second part was certainly more engaging than the first. But I'd still call the GOP the big winner in this debate so far. The first hour of petty questions did nothing to make either Democratic candidate look good. The big loser: ABC (well, and the voting public).

Why doesnt one of them say, We have spent almost $8 trillion dollars we do not have. The dollar is falling. For the first time is many years, people are talking about leaving the country. We the people have to do something about this deficit that we let our politicians run up. It means, for some, taxes will go up.
