How to get to Shea Stadium

BY CAR

With construction of Citi Field, some streets and parking lots will be closed at different times during the season. To safe yourself road rage, consider using mass transit as much as possible this season.

But those who wish to drive to the game, click here for driving directions from a specific address. For general directions, see below. If you're going to arrive within an hour of first pitch, you might also want to try these directions.

From Long Island: Take the Southern State Parkway west to the Cross Island Parkway north to Whitestone Expressway to the Northern Boulevard / Shea Stadium exit. OR, take the Northern State Parkway (westbound)/Grand Central Parkway to Shea Stadium exit.

From Queens: Grand Central Parkway East to Northern Boulevard/Shea Stadium exit. OR, Grand Central Parkway West to Shea Stadium exit.

From Manhattan: Triboro Bridge to Grand Central Parkway to Northern Boulevard/Shea Stadium exit. OR, Midtown Tunnel to LIE to either the Van Wyck Expressway North or Grand Central Parkway West to Shea Stadium exit.

From Brooklyn: BQE east to the Grand Central Parkway east to the Northern Blvd./Shea Stadium exit. OR, Belt Parkway east to the Van Wyck Expressway north. Take the Northern Boulevard West exit to Shea Stadium exit.

From the Bronx: Cross Bronx Expressway to Whitestone Bridge to Whitestone Expressway to Shea Stadium exit. OR, Triboro Bridge to the Grand Central Parkway to the Northern Blvd. / Shea Stadium exit.

From Staten Island: Staten Island Expressway east to the Verrazano Bridge to the BQE north/east to the Grand Central Parkway to the Northern Boulevard/Shea Stadium exit.

From Westchester: Hutchinson River Parkway south to the Whitestone Bridge to Whitestone Expressway to Shea Stadium exit.

From Rockland: I-87 South (becomes the Major Deegan Expressway in New York City) to the Triboro Bridge to the Grand Central Parkway to the Northern Boulevard/Shea Stadium exit.

From Northern New Jersey: George Washington Bridge to the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87) south to the Triboro Bridge to the Grand Central Parkway to the Northern Boulevard/Shea Stadium exit.

From Southern New Jersey: Goethals Bridge to the Staten Island Expressway east to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge to the BQE north/east to the Grand Central Parkway to the Northern Blvd./Shea Stadium exit. OR, Bayonne Bridge to 440 South to the Staten Island Expressway east, then follow directions above. OR, Outerbridge Crossing to 440 North to the Staten Island Exp. East, then follow directions above.

From Connecticut: Take I-95 to Whitestone Bridge to Whitestone Expressway to the Northern Boulevard /Shea Stadium exit.

BY TRAIN

From Long Island: The Port Washington line of the LIRR stops at Shea Stadium on game days only. Connections from other LIRR branches can be made at Woodside. Call 516-822-5477 or 718-217-5477 for schedule information, or visit the LIRR's schedules and fares online.

From the City: Trains from Penn Station or Woodside stops right at Shea.

LIRR begins service to Shea approximately two and a half hours before game time to give fans a chance to see batting practice. Extra trains run after Mets games (even the ones that go into extra innings) to help expedite your trip home.

BY SUBWAY

Take the No. 7 train, which services Mets fans at the Willets Point/Shea Stadium station and makes stops in Manhattan at Times Square, 5th Avenue and Grand Central Station.

BY BUS

The Q48 services Shea Stadium directly, with othe bus lines connecting. See the complete Queens Borough Bus Map (PDF).

BY BOAT

Seastreak (formerly Express Navigation, Inc.) departs from Highlands in Monmouth County, New Jersey for a 75-minute trip to Shea on weekends. The boat back home leaves 30 minutes after the final out. See fare and schedule information online or call 800-BOAT-RIDE or 732-872-2628.
