May 2, 1968, at Shea: During a 3-0 loss to the Mets,
Phillies reliever John Boozer is ejected in the seventh by umpire Ed Vargo for throwing spitballs during his warm-up pitches. Boozer is the second major-league pitcher to be ejected for throwing spitballs.
May 2, 1992, at Yankee Stadium: The Yankees and Twins totaled eight home runs and 26 hits in a 7-6 Twins' victory. Roberto Kelly, Jesse Barfield and Dion James went yard for the Yankees. Starter Scott Sanderson gave up four of the Twins' five home runs.
