May 3, 1971, at Shea: Tommie Agee's two-out single in the
11th knocked in Jerry Grote for a 3-2 victory over the Cubs. It was a different era: Agee's hit was off Cubs starter Ken Holtzman, who fell to 0-4 after going 10 2/3 innings and striking out 11.
May 3, 1977, at Yankee Stadium: Bucky Dent hit a grand slam and Reggie Jackson also homered during a seven-run fourth inning as the Yankees roughed up Mike Cueller and California, 8-1. Dick Tidrow struck out five in four innings of relief.
