Safety Kenny Phillips, here breaking up a pass intended for Georgia Tech's James Johnson, was the Giants' first round pick in the Draft. Phillips, 6'2 210-pounds, will fill the shoes left vacant by Gibril Wilson. Giants.com on Phillips: Of all the safeties in the draft, Phillips probably is the closest to the current NFL prototype, which is a guy as capable against the run as he is in coverage. Phillips has enough athleticism to do a good job against tight ends and slot receivers, but is still big and physical enough to be a force in run defense.
